If your animal is in distress, stop reading and call a veterinarian. Nothing on this website is a substitute for examining an animal in person. If you are dealing with an emergency, go to a vet now.
We are not veterinarians
PawsitiveHoomans is an information and record-keeping platform. It is run by pet parents, not by veterinary professionals. Nobody on our team is a licensed veterinarian, and no veterinarian reviews our content.
Everything on this site — articles, tools, vaccination schedules, symptom guidance and reminders — is general information. It is not veterinary advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment plan. It cannot account for your individual animal’s history, condition, breed, age or circumstances. Only a vet who examines your animal can do that.
Where our information comes from
We cite our sources openly so you can judge them for yourself:
- Dogs and cats — WSAVA Global Vaccination Guidelines (2024), and UC Davis Veterinary Medicine, which reflect standards commonly followed by Indian veterinarians.
- Cattle — the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), India.
We describe our content as based on these sources. We do not claim to be verified, certified, official or government-approved, because we are none of those things.
Vaccination timing varies by vet, vaccine brand, region and individual animal. Where an animal’s age or history is unknown, our schedules are estimates. Treat every date we show as a prompt to speak to your vet, not as an instruction.
Legal requirements in India
Anti-rabies vaccination is legally required in India. Every other vaccination we mention is recommended best practice, not a legal obligation.
Your records are your own
Information you enter into your Pet Passport is entered by you and not verified by us. We do not check it against any vet, clinic or official record.
This means your Pet Passport is a personal record, not proof of vaccination. It is not a certificate. Boarding facilities, groomers, airlines, housing societies and authorities may reasonably require an official document signed by a veterinarian, and we make no claim that our records satisfy any such requirement.
Reminders
We send reminders as a convenience, calculated from the information you give us. Emails can fail, be delayed, or land in spam, and our schedules are estimates. Please do not rely on our reminders as your only means of keeping an animal’s vaccinations up to date. The responsibility for your animal’s health remains yours and your vet’s.
Symptom guidance
Our symptom checker is a simple rule-based tool. It does not diagnose anything, it is not powered by any medical assessment, and it cannot see your animal. It is intended only to help you think about whether something warrants a vet visit. When in doubt, see a vet. Delay in seeking veterinary care can be fatal.
Costs and prices
Any prices we mention are indicative ranges only. Veterinary and service costs vary widely by city, clinic and individual case. Always confirm directly with the provider.
Legal and policy information
Where we write about Indian law, court orders or municipal rules — including the ABC Rules, feeding rights and animal welfare legislation — we are describing our understanding of publicly available information at the time of writing. This is not legal advice. Laws change, local implementation varies, and your situation may differ. For anything consequential, consult a qualified animal law practitioner or a registered welfare organisation.
External links
We sometimes link to other websites, organisations and shelters. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
Limitation of liability
You use this website and its tools at your own discretion and risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PawsitiveHoomans is not liable for any loss, injury or harm — to you, to any animal, or to any third party — arising from the use of, or reliance on, anything on this site.
We make no guarantee that the site will be available, accurate, complete or error-free.
