Understanding the Pet Registration Noida Process: A Step-by-Step Guide for Dog Parents

Government rules can change. Last checked against official sources on 03-10-2026. Please confirm with the office before applying.

If you live in Noida and have a pet dog, registering it with the Noida Authority is mandatory. The rules below come from the Noida Authority’s pet dog policy, which took effect on 12 December 2022. This guide covers who must register, the fee, the renewal window, late fees, fines and the helplines. For everyday care tips, visit our dog hub.

Who needs to register, and where

All pet dog owners must register their dog within 30 days of keeping it, on the NAPR (Noida Authority Pet Registration) app. [S1]

Whether you have adopted a puppy or brought an older dog home, keep that 30-day window in mind.

Fee and annual renewal

The fee is Rs 500 per year, and registration is valid for one financial year. [S2] Renewal is online, between 1 and 30 April each year, and you need your dog’s vaccination card or a certificate from a registered vet. [S2] A free anti-rabies vaccine comes with the registration fee. [S2]

Because renewal needs an up-to-date vaccination record, it helps to plan your dog’s vet visit before April. Our free Pet Vaccination Tracker can remind you when shots are due. Fees can change, so confirm the current amount in the NAPR app before you pay.

Late fees

If you apply between 1 May and 31 May, the cost is Rs 700 (Rs 500 + Rs 200). From 1 June it is Rs 700 plus Rs 10 per day. [S3] Late fees add up quickly, so mark the April window in your calendar every year.

Fines for owners

  • Dog attack: if a pet dog attacks someone, the fine is Rs 10,000, and the owner also pays for the victim’s treatment. [S4]
  • Loose dog or fouling public places: Rs 100 the first time, Rs 200 the second time, Rs 500 the third time. [S4]
  • Breeding business from home: running a dog-breeding business from a flat or house is fined Rs 5,000. [S4]

A sturdy leash, poop bags on every walk and calm, reward-based training go a long way towards avoiding all of these.

Exemption for families who adopt stray dogs

Families adopting 10 or fewer stray desi dogs are exempt from registration. [S5] If you have taken in community dogs from your area, this applies to you.

Helplines
